Our Programmes

Three structured paths
to financial understanding

Each programme addresses a distinct aspect of financial life for adults in Thailand at 40 and beyond. They stand independently — attend one, or all three.

How We Work

Our methodology

Every Ruam Wealth programme begins with the same premise: that adults at 40 and above bring substantial existing knowledge and experience to any learning situation. The facilitator's role is not to deliver a monologue but to create conditions in which that existing knowledge can be examined, extended, and made more useful.

Sessions are structured around materials rather than slides. Participants receive printed documents — return charts, bank conversation preparation cards, retirement planning templates — and the facilitator works through those materials alongside them. This reflects our belief that financial understanding should be transferable: when the session ends, the participant has something tangible they can take back to their household and continue using.

All three programmes are delivered at our Chatuchak premises in Bangkok, in small groups of no more than ten. This is a permanent commitment, not a current capacity. The facilitator is available for questions throughout each session and for a short period afterwards. Post-programme advisory services are not offered, but questions about session content are always welcome.

Reading Long-Term Returns

Programme 1 of 3

Reading Long-Term Returns

A four-session programme on the patient reading of long-term return data from Thai, regional, and global markets. The facilitator draws on multi-decade historical sources and explains how to read return charts with care — what they show, what they omit, and what considerations households at 40+ might draw from them. The aim is fluency in reading rather than action.

What you take away

  • Ability to read a return chart without commercial interpretation
  • Understanding of what historical SET data does and does not suggest
  • A printed reference card with recommended primary sources
  • Confidence to question return claims made by product sellers

Programme structure

  1. 1Thai market history — reading the SET's multi-decade return data
  2. 2Regional context — how Thai returns compare to neighbouring markets over time
  3. 3What the charts omit — volatility, inflation adjustment, sequence-of-returns considerations
  4. 4Drawing personal conclusions — what adults at 40+ might reasonably take from this reading

The Conversation with the Bank

Programme 2 of 3

The Conversation with the Bank

A one-day workshop preparing participants for considered conversations with bank relationship managers in Thailand. The session walks through the questions worth asking, the documents worth bringing, the words that often signal a sales-led conversation versus an advisory one, and the patient practice of declining a product recommendation when it does not suit one's situation.

What you take away

  • A printed A5 preparation card to bring to actual bank meetings
  • Phrases to use when a conversation shifts from advisory to sales-led
  • A list of questions organised by asset type
  • Practical confidence to decline a product recommendation calmly

Workshop structure

  1. 1Morning: Understanding the Thai bank relationship model — what your RM is there to do
  2. 2Mid-morning: The questions worth asking — organised by product category
  3. 3Afternoon: Recognising sales-led language — signals that the conversation has shifted
  4. 4Late afternoon: Practising the polite decline — language and posture for saying no clearly

Year-by-Year Retirement Conversation

Programme 3 of 3

The Year-by-Year Retirement Conversation

A four-month programme of monthly sessions in which participants build a year-by-year picture of their anticipated retirement decade. The facilitator provides a printed template adapted to the Thai context — including Social Security, provident fund, and household budget considerations — and works through each year with each participant individually. The aim is a clear personal document the participant keeps and updates over time.

What you take away

  • A personalised year-by-year retirement template, printed and yours to keep
  • Clarity on your Social Security entitlement and projected timeline
  • A structured view of provident fund drawdown options
  • A document you can update as your circumstances change over the years

Monthly session structure

  1. 1Month 1: The template and the first five years — Social Security timing, provident fund overview
  2. 2Month 2: The middle years — housing costs, household budget, health considerations in the Thai context
  3. 3Month 3: The later years — drawdown sequencing, what questions to raise with a bank
  4. 4Month 4: Review and completion — the finished personal document, what to update and when
